Tulum

“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard

Tracy and I spent 4 blissful days in sweet Tulum last month. It was so fun to get away and experience such a gorgeous, peaceful place with my oldest friend. In this life, one of my biggest priorities is to see the world. I want to surround myself with new cultures, new sights, and the unknown. I love to talk to others about travel, get new ideas, and when D and I talked marriage, I made him pinky promise me we could spend a life together seeing new places.

Oh, magical Tulum! It is such a beautiful place. We stayed at Ahau Tulum, in a room that overlooked the ocean. We could hear the waves crashing all night, and woke up each morning with the sun. We took walks for miles on the beach, and had drinks while laying in the sun all day. We napped, ate fresh seafood, rode bikes to the ruins, and tried all the cute little restaurants Tulum had to offer. To travel with friends, is to learn about them all over again. To talk about your dreams, the future, and laugh about the hilarious things you did when you were little girls is pretty special.

D and I are planning to go to Greece for our honeymoon in September. The planning, the hours spent dreaming, and the excitement that travel brings makes life worth living.

Happy weekend my friends!

A New Year!

Welcome 2014! I am delighted to see what you have in store for us! The end of 2013 was so special. D and I got engaged, and right after we were able to spend the holidays celebrating with our families. How blessed we are to have the GREATEST families who share our excitement and love us so much. The holidays were beautiful and sweet, and we rang in 2014 with our dear friends.

We are going to look at wedding venues today which has me excited beyond belief! I am just so excited to marry D and see all the adventures we will take together. This year will bring us 11 weddings and counting! I am so excited for all of my wonderful friends who are jumping into this next stage, and can't wait to plan with my girls over mimosas and sunshine.

Headed to San Francisco next week to celebrate Cody's birthday, and Tracy and I leave for Tulum a few days after that. No time for the January blues! There is so much to celebrate and be excited for! I know 2014 is going to be the BEST year yet.

Some goals for 2014:
I hope there are more celebrations under the sun, smiles all around and grateful hearts.
More handwritten notes, and special packages in the mail.
More bike rides in the sunshine, and homemade dinners together.
I want to HAVE FUN planning our wedding together.
I want to be courageous and open my heart to new adventures, and dream of all the places we want to see together.
I want to plan how we can get to all of these places.
I want to let all that I cannot change GO.  Live and let live.
I want to enjoy time for reading, unplug from technology and make time for exercise on a daily basis.
I want to laugh and cheers to everything that makes me and all my friends and family the happiest.
I want to settle for nothing less than the world. And I want to continue to say YES to new beginnings!

Cheers to 2014!
