My 90 Day Challenge...
90 days. 90 days!?! I just said that out loud and it shocked and inspired every bone in my body. 90 days until I leave this incredible, cosmopolitan, crazy, lovely, can't put into words how much I love it city and start a new adventure in San Diego.
When I started thinking all about the things I wanted to do before I left I thought documenting it would be so fantastic. To be able to look back and know that I was able to complete everything my heart desired in San Francisco is really special.
Three years ago when I moved here (Yes, three years! Can you believe it!?) and started my first SF Fun List I was on a mission to complete EVERYTHING on it. If you aren't familiar with my SF Fun List, it is a list on this raggedy old lined notebook paper of all the bars and restaurants I wanted/want to try. On the back, are all my favorite spots I have been organized by neighborhood. (Yes, I am little OCD.) I whip the list out to any and every one who wants to see and it, and it has been the source of so much entertainment for my friends and I who are always looking for fun, new things to do in the city. "Kel, get the list out!" I have heard hundreds of times. My friends are really good sports about me being a little bossy at times and wanting to be the planner. (Thanks guys!)
So with this new challenge, I have created a SF Fun List with the things I would like to do the next three months. I want to soak the city in through my heart and soul. A few times a week I have made a promise to myself to hang in different neighborhoods, take the MUNI to random spots in the city, take walks on streets I may have not noticed before and just BE PRESENT in what may very well be the last time of living so independent and carefree in my life. (Only time can tell, Dan might boot me after living with me AND Funny Bunny!) Kidding.
I decided on this challenge a few days ago when I was spending time with my friend Ben in Noe Valley. We played trains, trucks and baseball in his backyard. Did I mention he is three? After a few hours of playing, I roamed around 24th Street which is this precious neighborhood filled wth flower shops, bakeries, and coffee shops. I bought an Us Weekly and settled into a cozy corner of Starbucks with my laptop and my magazine feeling a lifetime away from my apartment in Nob Hill. (Really- 2 bus rides and 2 miles.) Just being in a new neighborhood made me feel excited and I knew this is exactly what I needed.

Monday came and continuing with my challenge, I met some girlfriends who I had been so close with in San Diego and were visiting the city last night. Seeing friends and laughing like no time has passed is one of the best things in life. We went to a fantastic dinner at Zero Zero in SoMa, and ate our way through some of the BEST Italian I have had in the city. After wine, pizza, bruchetta and a lot of laughs I went home happy and content that this is where life has led me.
Sweet friends laughing <3
We truly wanted to check everything on the list for dessert!
I look forward to sharing with my friends and fam all of the fun adventures I will be on in the next three months, and the places my heart will take me. This city will be the hardest thing in the world to say goodbye to, but saying goodbye by living each moment to the fullest has got to be the absolute BEST way.
